About Dr Mohammed S. Umar
Graduating from Dental school in 1997, Mohammed started his dental career in dental practices around the country. Each practice allowed him to refine his skills in all aspects of dentistry and understand the importance of a practice being ‘patient-led’.
Having patient well-being at the core of his understanding, in 1999, Mohammed settled in South Manchester and invested in his own practice. Gaining traction and expanding his patient-led approach, in 2013 Birch Dental Practice moved to a larger location which facilitated the need for patients with efficient and reliable dental care.
As part of the North-West Deanery, in 2014, Mohammed became the Educational Supervisor for dental graduates which is a role that Mohammed continues to reinforce. Birch Dental today is seen as a centre of learning excellence for dentists and dental hygienists in perfecting their skills.
Where prevention continues to be a far better solution than the cure, Mohammed has also allowed Birch Dental Practice to become a training practice for dental therapy. Education going beyond the graduate of dentistry, Mohammed remains to be a steadfast advocate in the teaching of dental hygiene to patients.
